Miruna “Runi” Freeborn was born to parents who rose from the lowest ranks of dwarven society. They earned their freedom through decades of hard labor and masterful craftsmanship, eventually finding refuge among the diverse races of the surface world. Determined to honor the freedom they fought for, they bestowed their only child the surname Freeborn. Runi grew into a strong and capable warrior and even supported her family’s trade by foraging the wilds. In her quiet hours, she escaped into books, nurturing a love of stories and embracing the ideas of distant worlds that may be akin to her own. When her parents passed, the home they built together no longer held comfort. Guided by the legacy of their struggle and her own hunger for adventure, Runi set out into the wider world to forge a legend of her own.
