Character for a post-apocalyptic story. Please, feel free to check it. (https://www.deviantart.com/tachyonblue)

"The trading town called Elektrotown began as the Platteville Hyperthermal Power Plant. Located just outside Platteville, Colorado, an old natural gas power plant was converted into a super-efficient alien-technology power plant. When the Calamity happened, refugees from the recently-destroyed Denver found their way to the power plant and began to settle around it, using the near-limitless power to fuel their medical devices, water purifiers, and more. As more people showed up, the power plant allowed them to set up shanty shelters around the plant, though they were sure to maintain a perimeter of around two hundred meters in order to keep the facility itself safe. Soon, more and more people showed up, and they began to trade. Now, that first set of improvised shelters has become scrapyards, workshops, and other industrial work centers. After that, local construction workers showed up to build more permanent structures. First, they used mobile concrete printers to make small, sturdy two-story concrete structures. Eventually, though, they converted the cargo crane atop the power plant into a massive 3-D printer that, to this day, prints more floors to the existing buildings. The edge of the printed buildings is determined by how far the crane can build outwards from the power plant. When it hits its limit, that's where the outer ring of ad-hoc structures begins. It's a maze of metal pipes, canvas covers, sheet metal, and wooden structures built of varying qualities. Having been built around the outermost concrete wall which was drawn by the printer at its absolute limit, the outer ring is mostly lawless, as it rests outside the security of the wall. The city's entrances sit at all four cardinal points. They are fortified control points, manned by a combined team of Elektrotown Security members in their blue powerplant jumpsuits, and Colorado Corsairs, former military in jeans and flannel, armed with rifles and plate carriers. The feature that gives the city its name is the bright lighting that can be seen from miles away at night. The one thing they have in abundance is power, so the city is lit up at all times. Neon signs advertising anything and everything, street lights, and defensive lights along the walls are a few of the commonly-seen wonders. Some wildlanders and traders will use the glow of the city at night to navigate."
